LINE BK Reports Continued H1 Growth as Economic Uncertainty Reshapes Thai Consumers’ Financial Behavior, Reinforcing Its Role as an “Everyday Financial Partner”

LINE BK has reported continued business growth in the first half of 2026 while highlighting a significant shift in Thai consumers’ financial behavior amid ongoing economic uncertainty. As global geopolitical tensions, volatile energy prices and trade policy changes continue to weigh on the economy, coupled with persistent household debt and gradually recovering purchasing power in Thailand, consumers are increasingly prioritizing liquidity management over simply borrowing. These evolving needs continue to shape the future of digital financial services.
Against this backdrop, LINE BK is reinforcing its role as an Everyday Financial Partner by continuously developing customer-centric financial products and digital innovations that help consumers manage their finances with greater confidence, flexibility and responsibility throughout every stage of life.
As of the first half of 2026, LINE BK served more than 8.8 million customers, representing a 12% year-on-year increase, while its lending customer base grew 15% year-on-year to approximately 931,000 customers. Total outstanding loans exceeded THB 29 billion, reflecting sustained demand for accessible and responsible digital financial services.
To further expand access to formal lending, LINE BK also launched its latest integrated brand campaign, "When Money Gets Tight, LINE BK Gets You Through," reinforcing the convenience of its digital lending services while raising awareness of legal and responsible borrowing. The campaign reflects the company's continued commitment to making formal financial services more accessible to Thai consumers.

Tana Pothikamjorn, Chief Executive Officer of KASIKORN LINE Company Limited, said "Consumers no longer view loans simply as a source of financing. Increasingly, they see them as a practical tool for managing liquidity during periods of income volatility or unexpected expenses. Today's customers are not necessarily looking for the highest credit limit—they want financial solutions that are easy to access, convenient to use and enable them to manage repayments responsibly according to their financial circumstances."
He added that this changing behavior reinforces the importance of Responsible Lending, a principle that has guided LINE BK since its inception. The company remains committed to promoting responsible borrowing while expanding access to formal financial services and supporting customers in building long-term financial resilience.
LINE BK continues to invest in technology to improve accessibility, customer experience and responsible credit assessment. The company recently enhanced its KLINE Score, which enhances the usage of Alternative Data Analytics to deliver a more comprehensive assessment of customers' repayment capability. The enhanced model enables individuals with limited traditional credit history but strong repayment potential to gain better access to formal lending, while supporting prudent risk management and expanding financial inclusion among underbanked consumers.
To further broaden access to regulated lending services, LINE BK also introduced its new "Refer a Friend" feature under the "Great Loans Are Worth Sharing" campaign. This new initiative empowering existing lending customers can conveniently invite friends and family by sharing their referral code through the LINE application, with cashback rewards offered to both referrers and referees once the loan application and loan contract are successfully completed. Since launch, the campaign has attracted more than 10,000 participating customers, demonstrating strong customer engagement and trust in LINE BK's lending services.
Beyond lending, LINE BK continues to strengthen its digital insurance portfolio through its strategic partnership with Muang Thai Life Assurance Public Company Limited. Earlier this year, the company launched CI Care Plus, a comprehensive cancer insurance product offering medical coverage of up to THB 5 million for both inpatient and outpatient treatment. Within just one month of launch, the product contributed approximately 15% of total insurance premium sales for the latest month, reflecting positive customer response.
Looking ahead, LINE BK believes the gradual rollout of Virtual Banks in Thailand marks another important milestone in the country's digital financial landscape. Greater competition is expected to accelerate innovation, expand consumer choice and further improve access to digital financial services.
Against this evolving landscape, LINE BK will continue strengthening its Everyday Financial Partner positioning by developing intuitive digital experiences, customer-centric products and responsible financial solutions that evolve alongside consumers' changing needs.
Tana concluded "In the second half of the year, we will continue investing in technology, enhancing customer-centric financial solutions and expanding access to responsible financial services. As economic uncertainty becomes an increasingly permanent feature of today's environment, we believe meaningful financial innovation that addresses real customer needs will be a key driver of sustainable growth—not only for LINE BK, but also for our customers and Thai society."
